My lotion bars are solid at room temperature like a soft bar of soap, but when rubbed on the skin, it melts on contact, leaving a highly moisturizing layer of lotion. Lotion bars are much heavier feeling on your skin. It you are not used to a solid lotion it might take some adjusting.
